Why are senior photo so expensive?
Senior year is full of once-in-a-lifetime moments, and your senior photos should be no exception! I know people often wonder why photography can be so expensive, so let’s take a look at what you’re truly investing in to help you decide if it’s worth the splurge for you.
A TAILORED EXPERIENCE:
Splurge: My shoots are customized to reflect each seniors unique personality and style! This level of customization requires time for pre-shoot consultations, location scouting, meticulous post-processing, all of which are integral to creating an experience that goes beyond typical expectations! Higher pricing allows me to invest more time in each seniors shoot because I’m not overbooking/overextending myself to make a living.
Save: There are plenty of great photographers that operate on a quantity pricing model - meaning they charge less and book more clients. Naturally, they will have less time for each individual, but if a personalized experience isn’t important to you, saving may be the better option here.
AUTHENTICITY AND CONNECTION:
Splurge: Connection is crucial for capturing natural, candid moments that truly reflect who you are - that’s why a large portion of my time is spent getting to know your personality and making sure you’re comfortable with me! By the time photo day rolls around, I’ll know just how to capture your special qualities, and you’ll feel relaxed enough to let them shine through! This special time/attention is built into my pricing.
Save: If you’re someone who can jump in front of a camera and absolutely slay, regardless of whose behind it, splurging won’t be necessary!
LONG-TERM VALUE:
Splurge: These images are what you’ll display in your home, include in graduation announcements, and cherish for generations! While yes, the initial price might be higher, these photos are personal artifacts that gain emotional value as time goes on! Think about how special it feels to see photographs from your parent’s/granddparent’s childhoods! My images are high quality, both in terms of aesthetics and durability - you’ll enjoy them for many decades to come! I don’t think anyone regrets that kind of investment!
Save: If you/your family aren’t ones to look back at old photos/memories, you may prefer to save some money here and just get some quick photos for announcements and social media.
