The Secret to Stunning Senior Photos
The right location can make all the difference in your senior session - adding personality and making your photos uniquely yours! Here’s how to choose a location that stands out:
1. Think About Places You Love
Think of spots that make you happy or that you spend a lot of time at like your church, the lake, a family farm - meaningful locations make your photos feel personal!
2. Look for Common Themes
Check your Pinterest boards or your saved pics for patterns - are you drawn to golden fields, white urban backdrops, or lush greenery? These themes can guide your location choices! (Side note: consider the season your shoot is scheduled in. You may need to be flexible with your locations or move your session date to get the background you want.)
3. Prioritize Outfit or Location
What’s more important: outfits or location? Plan around your priority—choose outfits first if they’re key or find scenery that inspires and match your wardrobe to it.
4. Consider Lighting and Time
We all know lighting makes all the difference for photos! Dreaming of golden light? Shoot at sunrise or sunset. For brighter, vibrant colors, midday works great.
5. Think Outside the Box
Don’t limit yourself to the obvious spots! Parks and urban areas are great, but unique locations like rooftops, a bookstore, or even a family-owned property can make your photos stand out.
